Crafts of Quezon Exhibit

Quezon Province is really rich in culture, heritage, history and in natural resources. Well known as an agricultural province in Southern Luzon, Quezon Province is one of the largest and richest producers of commodities such as rice, fruits and vegetables.

Last June at SM City Lucena, Quezon Province is able to showcase once again its pride in creative and world-class craftsmanship with the the Crafts of Quezon Exhibit.

The following is the context from the exhibit:

"Quezonians are known as among the happiest Filipinos who celebrate festivals all year round - from the Tagkawayan Day on January 1 to Sariaya's Belen Festival on December.

They are also very creative people who celebrate the rich produce of their land - coconuts, rice, bananas - by transforming these into the world class products.

From buli weaving in Mauban and Sariaya to coconut inspired crafts in Candelaria to kiping souvenirs in Lucban to driftwood sculptures in Banglos to coconut based soaps in Lucena to Ugu Bigyan's artisan pottery in Tiaong, Quezon is a treasure trove of some of the most amazing products."

Indeed blessed with rich land very much suitable for agriculture plus Quezonians creativity and knack to create something beautiful and useful, yields to words that best describe Quezon's products; all fresh and natural - WORLD CLASS.

Lucena City Fiesta 2013

The Pasayahan sa Lucena Activities may be over but the festivities for the celebration of Lucena City's feast day are very much alive.

In honor of St. Ferdinand the King, on May 30, Lucena City celebrates its feast day. Residences and establishments alike at downtown Lucena City celebrate with festivities including food, booze and entertainment.

The city celebrates the feast day with a Thanksgiving Mass and a Solemn Procession in honor of the patron saint, St. Ferdinand the King.

There are still a lot of attractions downtown despite the Pasayahan sa Lucena festivities being over. Live bands and entertainment await in Quezon Avenue; go downtown for the Tiangge and Baratillo Exhibit; the night life is very much alive with the night market being extended for another week; the Super Carnival in Pacific Mall is still ongoing as well as the Likas at Likha Agri-Trade and Exhibit; and with several barangays holding their own pageants, contests and tournaments.

The City's fiesta is a gentle reminder that the summer season and vacation will be over soon and the rainy days and school days are up ahead. So why not spend the rest of the summer discovering what Lucena City has to offer..?

Happy Fiesta Lucena City! VIVA St. Ferdinand the King!

Pasayahan Sa Lucena 2013 - Mardi Gras and Grand Parade

One of the main highlights of the Pasayahan sa Lucena Festivities is the grand parade. This year's theme for the Mardi Gras is the Carnival, inspired by the Carnival of Venice.

The Grand Parade showcases the talent, creativity and craftsmanship of Lucenahins as they parade through the streets of Lucena City Proper in their colorful costumes, props, and elegant floats.

The parade also serves as a competition for business establishments, government and non-government agencies and organizations and educational institutions alike. The Parade is divided into street dancing and float competitions.

Amidst the Spirit of Competition among the participants, all are in good spirits as the event's main purpose is for the enjoyment and delight of the crowd, and the promotion of Lucena City as a premiere investment community not only in Quezon Province but the entire Region IV.

This year's Grand Parade also features GMA 7's talents together with Ms. Roxanne Guinoo, Mr. Raymart Santiago, Ms. Rochelle Pangilinan and other Kapuso Stars.

The Parade started off at Quezon National High School and trekked through ML Tagarao Street, Quezon Avenue, Merchan St and Gomez Street. The Parade's ends at SM City Lucena where a Mall Show courtesy of Celebrity guests from GMA 7 await the crowd.

The festivities and fun are very much alive and kicking here at Pasayahan sa Lucena!

Pacific Mall Super Carnival 2013

Every summer, Pacific Mall Lucena brings delight and joy to Lucenahins and Quezonians with rides, games and food with its Super Carnival. The Carnival serves as the Mall's feature attraction. The timing is perfect, as it is summer season, students and kids are out from school. It also operates in-line with the Pasayahan Sa Lucena Season and further adds delight, attraction, and festivities to the City Fiesta. After all, no festival is complete without a carnival.

The mall is very accessible as it is just walking distance from the City Hall of Lucena and near the City Center. The Carnival is stationed at the spacious back parking lot of the Metro Gaisano and Pacific Mall.

The entrance fee is affordable. For just Php 25.00, relax and enjoy the games, rides, food and other festivities offered by the Super Carnival.

The Carnival offers a wide variety of rides for all ages. Ticket prices for rides vary, usually ranging from Php 25.00 to 50.00.

Ride high and get an aerial view (well, sort of) of the carnival with the Ferris Wheel and Cable Car rides. Spin your guts out with the Octopus and Twister rides. Sail away with the Conquistador. Experience a thrilling ride with the Horror Train and Roller coaster. Bump friends and fellow riders alike with the Bump Cars. Kids will surely have a fun time with kiddie rides like the airforce, jolliby and traditional carousel rides.

If you're not much into rides and kind of a gambling person, why not try your lucky hand with a wide variety of games.

Place your bets on the color and where-ball-lands-on-card games (don't know what it is really called, but you'll get the point.. LOL!). Display your sharpshooting skills with the shooting and dart galleries. Try your luck on the coin toss board game and win prizes. Be ready to shout "BINGO!" as your last ball is called.

Sing your heart out to the tune of your favorite songs with the ever-so-popular past time of Filipinos, the videoke.

Kids will also surely have a fun time at the ball slide, making it a sort-of-a baby or kid-sitter place while you're at it.

Should you get hungry from the rides and other activities.. that would not be a problem. The Super Carnival has a diner's lane offering burgers, grilled food and the like. The aroma of the food while being grilled will most likely stimulate your appetite.

Super Carnival usually runs during the summer season, so there is plenty of time for you to visit it. Enjoy the festivities of Lucena City with Pacific Mall Super Carnival!
